Dr Neville Bolt, Founder and Director of the Sympodium Institute for Strategic Communications, joined a joint hearing of the European Parliament's Special Committee on the European Democracy Shield (EUDS) and Committee on Security and Defence (SEDE) on Monday 7 September, "Challenges of the Future Information Environment," with participation from members of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) and the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE). The session brought together MEPs and experts for an exchange on artificial intelligence, disinformation, the role of platforms and Europe's capacity to protect democratic debate.

Presenting alongside strategic communications expert Elina Lange-Ionatamišvili, Dr Bolt drew on findings from The NextGen Information Environment, a report issued for NATO's Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence, launched earlier this year at the Munich Security Conference.
